We teach techniques from a variety of fencing masters across Europe and several different styles of sword. Our main focus is the Longsword however we do also enjoy fencing with Sword and Buckler, Sabre, Rapier and Dagger and more; and pitting one against another. They do say variety is the spice of life!
Classes and weapon choices come down to what instructors are interested in teaching but also input from students. We make the classes fun and enjoyable for all.
We mainly teach from Joachim Meyer's 'The Art of Combat 1570' and his 'Art of Sword Combat 1569'. We do also look at other fencing masters such as Fiore dei Liberi.
The Longsword is often portrayed as a large heavy weapon which takes big muscles to use, this is not the case at all.
We use 'The Complete Renaissance Swordman' - Antonio Manciolino 1531 and 'Medieval Combat' - Hans Talahoffer 1467 as an instructional sources for our Sword and Buckler Training.
Sword and Buckler is a lot of fun. The small shield is surprisingly very good at providing protection whilst you attack with the sword.
